Role Summary/Purpose
This role supports the Radiography Engineering team in Ahrensburg & Wunstorf executing product life cycle management from a Software Engineering perspective. Participation in the design of industrial x-ray and computed tomography systems at GE Inspection Technologies. He/She will work with the Radiography engineering team to deliver outstanding products.
Essential Responsibilities
· Design, Implementation and Testing of Software Solutions based on the current Radiography 2D and 3D Software platform
· Support of existing Software solutions in the field from a Life Cycle Management perspective
· Supporting the greater Software team in architectural and Software platform tasks
· Write technical documents (User or Service Manuals, Assembly or Test Procedures …)
· Support engineering group in any other aspects required
· Travel may be required to support customer and other GE sites
· Support of the Project process and contribute to mandatory Project reviews
· Focus on EHS and Compliance as a first priority, customer and quality
Qualifications/Requirements
· Engineering Degree in Software or equivalent
· Solid Experience in Coding using C/C++/C#, ideally with MS VisualStudio
· Experience in Image processing, good mathematical skills
· Ability to solve complex technical problems based on independent work
· Customer Focus
· Good communication skills in German and English both oral and written
Desired Characteristics
· Industrial X-Ray Testing, ideally Computerized Tomography
· Software Development-Methods OOA, OOD, SCRUM, Agile
· Software - Quality- and Release Management
· GUI Building using C# / WPF / MFC / WinForms / Qt
· Hardware based Software-Development
· Data-Access using TCP/IP & other Network protocols
· Basic understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP)
· Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives
