IT Infrastructure Specialist

Job description

The IT Infrastructure Support Specialist will provide day-to-day support as part of the Infrastructure Systems Management in Poland; this will include technical support of Poland servers, storage and data room facilities. This professional applies knowledge of Windows and VMware server operations practices as well as good hardware and infrastructure experience to various platforms.

 

The opportunity

This specialist will be responsible for deployment and installation of hardware equipment and associated infrastructure peripherals. The individual shall be responsible for basic server incidents, hardware troubleshooting, memory installations and upgrades.

Your key responsibilities

· 
Ensure the ongoing operations, availability and stability for infrastructure such as structured cabling, server hardware, network, and storage equipment.

· 
Install and decommission infrastructure components per guidelines and change ticket orders

· 
Basic incident handling, troubleshooting, and server hardware replacement/upgrades

· 
Creation, maintenance and provision of Data Room Facilities inventory system, documentation and reports

· 
Liaise with building facilities and various IT management teams relative to Data Room operations and project activity

· 
Perform other responsibilities and tasks as required or directed

Skills and attributes for success

· 
Experience with various aspects of hosting center technology, infrastructure management and operations

· 
Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross border team

To qualify for the role you must have

· 
~1-2 years of relevant work experience

· 
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

· 
Good spoken and written English is required

· 
Basic knowledge of Dell or HP server hardware

· 
Basic knowledgle of storage platforms would be a plus

· 
An overall understanding of IT facilities (cabling, HVAC, power distribution, etc.).

Ideally, you’ll also have

· 
Microsoft Windows Server certification (not required but would be a plus)

· 
Experience with various aspects of hosting center technology infrastructure management and operations preferred

· 
Experience of working in larger-scale data centers preferred
