Our EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC) practice operates as a virtual hub of highly specialized tax professionals from across EMEIA with a primary focus of expanding our service capability and speed to market for Priority Accounts. Our tax professionals help clients in the UK and overseas meet complex demands for tax reporting, compliance, planning and tax controversy; they look to us to help create value and achieve sustainable outcomes.

 

Many of our clients are seeking to centralize their own processes and systems through a finance transformation process, transferring more tasks and activities to Global Shared Service Centres.  The need to comply with regulatory requirement remains and the ETC Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) team provide large complex clients with globally integrated outsource contracts. 

 

Your key responsibilities:

In GCR, you’ll develop technical tax and accounting knowledge that will equip you with the skills necessary to progress through your career, managing large complex engagements and becoming the key point of contact for your clients. You’ll be in the thick of it from day one, attending client meetings, supporting consultants and learning how to use the tools and technology we employ daily.  

As importantly, working you’ll have a unique opportunity to build networks and relationships across borders. By the time you finish the programme you will have a professional qualification, your own client portfolio and a vast global network within EY – all foundations for building a great career.

What support and professional qualifications will I receive?

 

 

You’ll have the opportunity to combine on-the-job experience with study for a professional qualification. Your first few years with us will be intense. You will be working towards a professional qualification as well as learning your role and where you fit in the team. You will be supported with tax technical training, relationship building, leadership and systems training to accelerate your professional growth with us.  Additionally, you’ll receive mentoring to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to perform optimally and reach your full potential.

 

 

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

 

Entry requirements

Graduate Programme – To be eligible for our Graduate programme you should be studying for an honours degree or have graduated with an honours degree. You must have obtained this qualification in advance of the programme start date in April 2020.

 

A background in accounting and finance is beneficial though not essential, as is an interest in technology.

 

Ideally, you'll also have:

 

Ideally you’ll be analytical and able to communicate your analysis logically.

 

 

What do we look for?

 

We want people with a keen interest in improving business tax functions through the use of technology and process improvement. Successful candidates will ideally have a strong affinity to problem solving via the means of technology solutions and will enjoy being challenged in a dynamic, team environment.

 

All our work is performed in teams and so we are looking for people who are good team players.

 

Building strong relationships with clients, tax authorities and EY colleagues is essential, so we are looking for people with excellent inter-personal skills. Not least, you’ll need to be resilient and hard working to get through the tough professional qualifications.
