Job Description – IFRS17 (Staff)

 

EY is looking for a motivated, result oriented and quality focused professional with strong analytical skills to work and thrive with IFRS 17 accounting regulation using ETL and BI tools. The candidate must be highly numerate, and a degree in mathematics/statistics, management or a related discipline, and/or a successful background in numerical work is preferable.

Roles and Responsibilities

·  The position requires a person to work on global IFRS-17 engagements, with base location at GDS (Bengaluru). The role involves data analyses which will be driving various decisive solutions around the project with special focus on ETL and BI technologies like SSIS, Informatica, R, Power BI. The responsibilities include -
·  Integrate data into various data storages like Datamarts, Datawarehouse, Data lake using Informatica PowerCenter/ SSIS
·  Develop IFRS17 reports/Dashboards using Power BI/Tableau/R Shiny with appropriate calculations
·  Apply appropriate methodologies and best practices during development
·  Troubleshoot and optimize code
·  Conduct peer code reviews and participate in technical design
·  Prepare unit test, integration test plan documents and perform unit test, system integration test; document test results
·  Demonstrate clear, gracious oral and written communication

Qualifications and Experience

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or MCA
·  3-5 years working experience in large scale data integration and reporting/visualizations implementations in insurance/banking/financial service industry

Key Competencies

·  Experience in data integration using Informatica PowerCenter/SSIS
·  Experience in creating reports/dashboards using Power BI/Tableau/R Shiny
·  Familiarity with relational and dimensional data models.
·  Familiarity with Oracle database or new generation data management software such as Teradata, Greenplum, Redshift, etc.
·  Experience in Linux/Unix environment and shell script programming
·  Well versed with Data warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts
·  Experience in working on cloud environments as AWS, Azure, etc.
·  Experience in any of the BFSI Reporting Standards i.e. Solvency-II / Basel III / IFRS 4 / IFRS 9 with good understanding and background on risk analytics implementation.
·  Familiarity with IFRS regulations and/or other regulatory reporting.
·  Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
·  Strong Analytical Skills

Business case

New reporting and regulatory requirements are driving changes that are significantly impacting the way insurers manage their business. The new financial reporting standard IFRS 17 will undoubtedly represent the most significant change to insurance accounting requirements in over 20 years. As EY is gearing up for implementing IFRS 17 standards for various Insurance clients, GDS need to augment this demand by creating a task force. To successfully manage the delivery GDS need to invest to enhance, establish & scale the existing competency.
