Job description



ENGIE are recruiting for an Assistant Estates Manager (Mechanical/Plumbing) to be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. This is a permanent, full time role, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and company benefits package.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Work in collaboration with the other Retained/Zone 2 AEM’s to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate
·  Manage the day to day performance of the mechanical team including: Planned, Corrective and Reactive maintenance tasks
·  Managing and directing staff in a safe and efficient manner
·  Manage absence and utilization within the team effectively ensuring the rota is covered as necessary
·  Responsible for the action and validation of time sheets, on-call sheet, Annual leave requests and general personnel issues.
·  Directly accountable for day to day matters to the Technical Services Managers.
·  Ensure that Planned and scheduled preventative maintenance activities for buildings, plant and equipment using the Maximo system or other works management system, are compliant with Statute, Contract Requirements, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s).
·  Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors Response and Rectification times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care and without undue delay. Where there is risk of failure to achieve SLA’s swiftly intervene and resolve via ‘recall to work’ procedure for emergency repairs as required
·  Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the Estate in line with Contract and Company Requirements.
·  Responsible for the safety of plant, equipment and infrastructure, compliance documentation and for safe working practices.
·  Ensure that plant and equipment data and information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to enable accurate Condition Surveys and assist in the subsequent Lifecycle Planning as required.
·  Participate as a member of the Estates Team by achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in a number of disciplines as required and directed by Senior Management Team.
·  To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the department as requested by the Senior Management Team.
·  To attend and participate in Training courses as required and to undertake any training in the future as may be required to ensure the duties of the post are effectively carried out or as required by the Senior Management Team.
·  To establish and implement monitoring systems to ensure that maintenance standards and compliance are to the optimum.
·  Responsible for maintaining comprehensive maintenance and compliance records.
·  Assist in updating on new technology and advising on any future requirements to the staff training programme

Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

Essential (1 of the below):

·  City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Level 2 & 3
·  City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Level 2 & 3
·  City & Guilds Plumbing Level 2 & 3
·  Relevant City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications

Desirable:

·  ONC or National Certificate in relevant area
·  HNC/HND in a relevant area
·  Additional AP including:
·  HTM-02 Authorised Persons for Medical Gas Pipelines Systems (MGPS)
·  HTM-03 Authorised Persons for specialist Ventilations Systems
·  Authorised Persons for Mechanical Systems
·  BOAS Systems
·  ACoP L8 – Responsible Persons for Legionella
·  Confined Spaces Authorised Persons
·  MEWP Training IPAF
·  IOSH/NEBOSH
·  Management experience in an NHS environment
