Tasks

The department Risk Instruments Mercedes-Benz Bank & Europe of Daimler Financial Services (DFS) Risk Management is responsible for the development and assessment of risk classification methods for the DFS (incl. subsidiaries) on a global level. In this context you are responsible for the analytics, conception and contribute to the strategic development of scoring/rating methods for the DFS companies on a global level as well as the conception and evaluation of pilot concepts within the younger business fields.

Your tasks will be:
Consultancy of our international DFS subsidiaries (incl. Athlon and DMS) in topics of risk classification, fraud and credit process steering, especially from a data scientist perspective.
Integration of strategic impulses of the balanced strategy and use cases within digitalization/Big-Data environment.
Development of a future oriented scoring/rating approach and fraud/ID check, focusing on our customers and paying into the customer life time value strategy of DFS.
Initiation and implementation of pilot concepts with business partners enabling the strategic evolution of risk classification within a changing environment of the DFS this includes:
Translation of business demands into mathematical-statistical methods using statistic software (i.e. SAS).
Data preparation and analytics as well as the interpretation of the results based on business understanding and presentation via story telling.
Evaluation of different options regarding business potentials, legal and technical conditions.
Accompany the integration into productive IT systems from a business side.
Handling of analytic requests corresponding to the implemented risk classification methods via statistic software.
Steering and support of international projects for further development of scoring and rating methods of the DFS and subsidiaries.

Qualifications

Education:
University degree in mathematics, econometrics, science, statistics, business mathematics, engineering economics or similar

Experience and specific knowledge:
Expert in statistical analysis and mathematical modelling
First practical experiences in developing statistical methods within a financial business context are of advantage

IT skills:
Sound MS Office knowledge and programming skills in VBA
Excellent knowledge in statistic software, i.e. SAS, R
Familiar with established database applications and practical experiences in data preparation
Experiences in machine learning are a benefit

Language skills:
Fluent in English and German

Soft skills:
You have high analytical, investigation and conceptual skills
You have fun in creative problem solving and the interpretation of your results in a business context
You work efficient and effective in a very dynamic environment
You are a strong team player with high negotiation skills
You are an effective communicator within an international environment and across different functions
