Job Description

As a Controls & Drives Project Engineer at Continental Tires, your function will be to develop and realize corporate engineering strategies for the companies worldwide tire production facilities according with Continental's quality and efficiency requirements, ensuring competitive processes in line with the company strategy.

·  Development and implementation of electrical controls, drives and automation concepts including IT interfaces for all machinery throughout the tire manufacturing production process

·  Preparation and continuous improvement of Controls & Drives machine specifications

·  Managing and leading machine projects globally with main focus on Controls & Drives

·  Main contact for electrical standards in the tire division

·  Ensure know how transfer between the tire plants

·  Provide services to the tire plants to ensure the upkeep of operation efficiencies

·  Review and provide recommendations for plant investments

·  Analyze technical problems with suppliers, IT department and plants. Support of C&D Service organization

·  Development of "low cost" suppliers and provide technical support to purchasing department

Desired profile

Job Requirements

·  Academic degree in electrical/electronic engineering

·  Several years of engineering experience in an industrial production environment or similar

·  Good technical and business understanding of manufacturing processes

·  Excellent communication and presentation skills

·  Good overall knowledge of automation systems with basic programming skills, preferably Siemens Step7 and/or Beckhoff TwinCAT

·  Good knowledge of HMI systems for machinery, OPC technology and IT systems (operating systems, databases, networking, users management, …)

·  Experienced in project management

·  Fluent English skills (written and spoken) and experience working in international teams, additional language skills preferred

·  High willingness to travel (30-50%)
