Job description

The Powertrain Division has more than 35,400 employees working at 54 locations in 19 countries.
Directly attached to the Powertrain Engine System division you will be in charge of test bench projects for several German customers (BMW, Daimler, Hyundai Motor Company). In a team of engineers you will have to plan, quote and manage test benches (Hardware and Software including models) to project needs. You will have to define and provide test bench setups for all stakeholders and perform associated support. Finally you will ensure to continuously improve test environment for engine control units and process.
Detail of the mission:
- To define a test bench using HiL Hardware and physical build of OpenLoop and CloseLoop HiL System,
- To create OpenLoop and ClosedLoop models for HiL systems based on generic libraries in coordination with system, project and customer teams,
- To extend and to maintain test benches (HiL HW and HiL Models) during project run time,
- To provide a technical support of test developers for specification of HiL components (e.g. dummy loads and real/active components) as well as steering/coordination of external suppliers,
- To provide a test support: technical support of system test engineers during their test execution and reproduction of car issues at the HiL/”Bug hunting”,
- Consequent application of development process according location rules and identification of improvements.
Required qualifications:
- Degree in electrical engineering (specialized in control engineering), mechatronics or mechanical engineering (specialized in electrical engineering),
- Practical know-how in modeling and simulation,
- Programming know-how (e.g. Matlab & Simulink),
- Practical experience in electronics (read of schematics, define dimensions, build of electrical circuits)
- Fluent German (e.g. B2/C1)
- Fluent English (min B2).
Preferred qualifications:
- Know-how of vehicle electronics (desired engine control electronics and car communication protocols) and combustion engines (physical functionalities),
- Experience with dSpace and/or Labcar,
- Test methodology.
