Engine System Business Unit provides system solutions for internal combustion engines, turbochargers, exhaust gas after-treatment, and electrification.

For the Engine System Business Unit, we are looking for a Advanced System Engineer to support our business in Japan.
Goal of VIE’s request for company international development
VIE will make technical and cultural link with Europe lead locations. VIE will notably play role on projects with International Japanese OEMs.
Detail of the mission (tasks)
- Collect customer requirements
- Align concept solutions with Europe lead locations (may be cross Business Units)
- Participate to concept development activities with Europe lead locations (locally or in Europe)
- Explain concept solution to customer and collect feedbacks (verify understanding and adherence)
- Realize concept performance validation tests at customer location (proof of requirements achievement)
- Participate to concept integration tests at customer location (for serial production applications)
- Transfer knowhow from Europe lead location to local System Engineering production projects team
- Be customer main technical entry point and main development partner for advanced concepts (system products and solutions, including control functions)
- Develop technically competent relationship and trusted partnership with the technical community of the customer in order to anticipate needs and identify innovation trends
- Promote CONTINENTAL existing concepts and systems to customer
Qualification required (profile, languages…)
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering. Preferred background: Combustion engines. (Missing degree may be substituted by long-term experience in this work area.)
- TOEIC > 700 (not needed if the candidate has enough experience with English environment)
- Minimum 3 years experience in automotive business. (OEM, Supplier or engineering service provider)
- Fuel injection system knowhow
- Good experience about SW/ function architecture of diesel or gasoline engine management systems
- Experience in Engine control Functions development
- Experience in coordination of complex system development tasks
Qualification preferred
- Japanese JLPT N5 or more (ideally N2)
- Good experience in the area of combustion for diesel or gasoline engines
- Practice in Calibration tasks (Emission, Performance, Hot/Cold/Altitude Environment)
- Worked in one finished engine system engineering projects from start of development to launch.
- Worked in an internationally distributed engineering environments.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning (ideally with application to internal combustion engine control)
- Ideally graduated from IFP (Institut Francais du Petrole / French Petroleum Institute) or ENSPM (Ecole Nationale du Petrole et des Moteurs)
