Your future duties and responsibilities
The Team is primarily focused on the development of new capabilities on our clients data platform. We need a self-starting and experienced Technical Architect/Senior Software developer to work as part of a development team working out of our Leatherhead Delivery Centre. Candidates must have proven team leadership skills, be pro-active, take ownership of tasks and provide technical solutions and governance for a team of highly motivated software developers.

Mandatory requirements:
• Experience of big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark and YARN or other Big Data technologies.
• Solution Architecture experience as well as experience of working as a technical lead within a development team.
• Experience of designing SQL databases.
• The ability to write technical documentation such as SADs, LLDs, HLDs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with both management and development teams.
• Knowledge of automation/configuration management (i.e. Ansible).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Very good knowledge of Accumulo, HDFS, Apache Spark, Java, Kafka
Desirable Skills:
• Knowledge of a wide variety of open source technologies including but not limited to; NiFi, Kubernetes, Docker, Hive, Oozie,YARN, Zookeeper, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch.
• Experience of working in an Agile project delivery environment, using SCRUM.
• The ability to write user guides, release notes etc.
• Experience of System Testing and experience of automated testing – e.g. unit tests, integration tests, mocking/stubbing.
• Proven experience of acting as a technical lead/architect on project delivery.
