Data Administration Engineer

CGI has more than 40 years of experience in delivering complex, mission-critical space systems. Working with civilian space agencies, such as the European Space Agency (ESA), as well as space and ground segment systems companies, we have a proud heritage of successful project delivery and services across the space domain.

We are seeking to expand our team and are looking for Engineers to work on existing and new projects in the ground segment domain.

Location: for projects based out of our Darmstadt office. Some working on our clients’ sites may be required.

Aufgaben
Work description:
• Routine system administration service;
• Preventive system administration service;
• Corrective system administration service;
• End-user initiated changes;
• Installation and configuration of computer and storage solutions;
• Building, packaging and installations of software solutions;
• Interface to hardware repair and COTS support maintenance providers;
• IT Engineering Service

Qualifikation
Mandatory skills and experience include:

The key person shall have a university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and shall have proven experience in the following skills and experiences for at least 5 years:
• Expert knowledge in the field of database installation, configuration and tuning;
• Expert knowledge of ORACLE database products (v11/v12 enterprise edition);
• Expert knowledge of POSTGRES database;
• Knowledge of database programming;
• Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning;
• Ability to write technical documentation in English.

Nice-to-have:
• Knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB
• Certification in the area of the database administration
