Within the Silicon COmponents Division (DCOS) of CEA-Leti, the Masks & Design Kit Laboratory (LMDK) is in charge of promoting Leti's emerging technologies (CMOS, 3D, Memories, Microsystems, Photonics, ...) through masks layout as well as development of research Design Kits. Consequently, masksets address a wide range of technologies: microelectronics, micro-mechanics, biology, optics, photonics, and many others. This research activity requires not only skills in advanced CAD tools but also rigorous working methodologies. To satisfy a complex and increasing demand, the laboratory is looking for a Mask Layout engineer to address various research topics like rampup of 300mm masks specification.

From customers specification:

- you will realize physical implementation (layout) of test structures and/or technological demonstrators (test circuit) in the microelectronics or nanotechnologies fields,
- you will develop computer programs to improve productivity (Pcells= Programmable Cells) and deck files for physical verification (DRC= Design Rules Check),
- you will be in charge of final reticle assembly and ensuring proper compliance with technological constraints (density,…),
- you will generate databases for masksets manufacturing (Data Prep, Post-processing) in interaction with partner foundries and maskshops,
- you will work with CAD softwares such as Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics Calibre, Synopsys Cats, while using specific procedures of the mask design flow.

You will also be in charge of methodologies evolution in order to improve productivity, quality, and adapting them to new technologies. For that, you will work with device engineers, technologists and suppliers.
