Summary: Bureau Veritas seeks to hire a Proposal Development Writer/Specialist to join our growing Marketing and Sales team in North America. This is an excellent opportunity for an already experienced proposal/technical writer to join the Marketing and Sales team to support the development of proposals for services in both the private and public sector, as well as marketing collateral.

Successful candidate will be responsible for RFP/RFQ Response planning, content development and management, creating and updating project briefs, case studies and personnel resumes; quality control, delivery of proposals and win/loss debriefs. They will maintain and meet proposal development schedules and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Read and analyze Requests for Proposal (RFPs), develop proposal content, create assignments, and manage proposal teams to complete assignments.
• Follow specified capture and proposal processes and procedures
• Coordinate with Engineers, SME’s and Operational and Technical Leads for proposal input
• Prepare Go/No Go matrices and conduct proposal kickoff briefing calls
• Proactively develop assignments
• Conduct research if needed on RFP technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of areas to be addressed and responded to
• Solicit and compile team questions; fill out mandatory forms, monitor questions and answers on RFP platforms, ensure all up-to-date notifications about a bid are distributed to the proposal team in a timely manner
• Develop and implement technical and management strategies to meet proposal requirements
• Formulate graphics, develop cover pages, proposal charts and graphics, executive summaries and cover letters as required by RFP
• Complete Government Standard Forms e.g., 254, 255, and 330 Architect and Engineer qualifications statements and associated documentation
• Collaborate with other professionals in the division to develop winning strategies
• Lead proposal team reviews
• Integrate revisions and commentary from multiple sources into the proposal ensuring page count and consistency throughout
• Perform final quality control review before proposals are delivered to the customer. Ensure writing style, fonts, page sizes, page count etc. is compliant with all proposal criteria and instructions
• Perform in-depth editing of draft responses for clarity, continuity, readability, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and spelling.
• Coordinate with Operations to maximize proposal Win Rate, revenue, and profitability opportunities with targeted new and existing clients.
• Work comfortably in InDesign, PDF, Word, PPT and Excel
• Draft proposal templates to standardize proposals to ensure quality and consistency.
• Develop and maintain a library of boilerplate language
• Create proposal and other marketing collateral and other related communication material to the division, ensuring accuracy of service information, within corporate guidelines.
• Prepare PPTs for client meetings
• Coordinate and attend select tradeshows

Qualifications:

Educational and Skill Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Business Administration, and Journalism, etc.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Proposal Technical Writer in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high-volume proposal environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked for A&E and construction firms.
• Knowledge of compiling government bids. Grant writing for public sector in a similar industry will be taken into consideration.
• Critical attributes include exceptional communication, teamwork, flexibility, and organizational capacity and ability to motivate and energize team participation.
• Possess technical ability to learn, interpret and write in a fast-moving proposal team effort
• Proven ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narrative as required
• Ability to think creatively and work under time constraints and tight deadlines
• Expert knowledge of MS Office business applications
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential.
• Attention to detail and eye for accuracy and quality.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Motivated and a quick learner, able to work both independently and as team player on the Marketing team
• Ability or willingness to balance multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, and be responsive and thrive in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the business. .
• Ability to interface and effectively work with various groups and cultures involved (partners, government, agencies, contractors, operations, etc.), and gain alignment to achieve objectives.

IT/IS Capabilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, document and database software (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat). Familiarity with Excel, CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Deltek and SalesForce) preferred.

Work Environment:
An employee in this position typically works in an office environment with controlled climate. Outside office travel to job sites is included, but limited.
