Job description

Your background:
You have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a smiliar specialization in chemical processes.
You are willing to develop a career on a production site, dealing with various tasks, trying to find the best solution to improve the safety and the efficiency of manufacturing activities.
You have significant internships (more than 5 months) in chemical industries.
You are fluent in German and English (mandatory in order to be fully integrated in our teams).
Finally, you have strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to work with people from various backgrounds. A high level of autonomy is required for the role.
Your responsibilities
Context & missions:
The Arkema GmbH Günzburg facility, close to Ulm, has been producing an extensive range of organic peroxides under the tradename Luperox® since 1955.
The site is the largest export branch of Arkema GmbH. More than 80% of Leuna‘s production is sold outside Germany. Approximately 160 people are employed in Günzburg.
Your main activities will be the following:
1) Process optimization
- Evaluate process capabilities and perform benchmarks with sister plants
- Follow up specific consumptions to ensure Variable Costs control
- Propose and define process modifications to improve capacity, quality and variable costs
- Simple troubleshooting (including quality analysis)
2) Process modifications
- Specify process equipment (process Datasheets)
- Review/Comment PFD&PIDs
- Prepare documentation for Hazard Analysis & Participate to safety reviews
You will also perform specific process studies under Process Manager supervision (chemical engineering calculations, material and utility balances, test run preparation).
Safety is always in mind. You will be responsible for the safety of all our teams on site and you will participate to any tasks related HSEQ issues assigned by top management.
