VR/AR Prototyping Architect

Amazon Web Services (AWS) EMEA is looking for an experienced Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality specialist, who will take the role of a prototype developer, enabling AWS customers to explore our technology and build virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) prototypes using AWS Services. The VR/AR Prototype Architect will be part of EMEA Prototyping Labs and will work in close partnership with the Sales and Business Development teams to enable customer use cases and drive the adoption of Amazon Sumerian and other AWS related services. The AR/VR Prototype Architect will engage directly with the customers' development team, understand their specific business and technology challenges in the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality, support hands-on to build a first prototype and transfer knowledge on specific AWS services.

Prototyping engagements will usually require to travel to Customers across EMEA and work 2-3 weeks on-site in a temporary Lab-like environment.

The AR/VR Prototype Developer will also provide field enablement support for the wider Prototyping Labs Competencies, e.g. IoT, Voice and Image Recognition to integrate Mixed Reality features into customer prototypes.

We are looking for a skilled and creative developer that have experience in Computer Vision, 3D objects, rendering and data storage. Applications include real-time 3D modeling, image and video stream processing, all within a scalable distributed environment.

Preferred location: London or Luxembourg, but other major AWS EMEA office locations considered (Munich, Berlin, Paris, Hague, Madrid)

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
· Minimum of 3 years software development experience
· Development experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (such as Java, Ruby, Python, C++/C#) and open-source technologies (Linux, Spring, JQuery, etc)
· Development experience with communications products (e.g. IP messaging, voice , and video)
· Proven success in solving complex technical challenges and building reliable customer facing systems
