DESCRIPTION

Amazon Fulfillment Technology is looking for a Senior User Experience designer who is passionate about the intersection of the physical and the virtual world, transcending beyond what is shown on a screen to include physical environment, building layout, industrial lighting, and sound. We enable millions of Fulfillment Center Operators to come into work every day and deliver unparalleled Amazon customer experience to retail buying customers.

As a Sr. UX Designer, you will invent solutions that improve productivity and safety for Amazon's Fulfillment Center Operators in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and product managers. You will own and drive the user experience from a global perspective and participate in research studies in order to deliver simple, elegant and highly functional designs. You will help build relationships across teams and countries, promote collaboration and efficiency, and raise the bar for the user experience provided in the global fulfillment network. You will also be a contributor to the ongoing development and evolution of AFT's new design system as part of your work. This role is co-located with the front end and software engineers responsible for delivering the solutions you will work on, allowing for a more integrated and agile approach.

Responsibilities:
· Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, voice of the customer, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings.
· Quickly and iteratively create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, low and high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications to Product and Engineering teams, as well as business stakeholders and executive leadership.
· Contribute to guidelines and design standardization across all of the team's products.
· Ensure voice of the customer is present by incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design.
· Develop and maintain detailed information architecture and design specifications.
· Performing metrics analysis post-launch to inform design/UX optimization efforts.
· Present design work to UX design peers, product teams and executive leadership
· Champion great UX for AFT products
· Participate in peer mentoring and skill sharing to collectively raise the bar for UX and across Amazon

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
· 7+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar
· Experience designing applications with complex workflows and multiple user touch points across multiple form factors
· Experience with multiple platforms and form factors, such as smartphone, tablet, multi-modal or industry-specific devices
· Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment
· Proven ability to work cross-team, synthesize feedback and input from business leaders, customer research/analytics to design creative solutions
· Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions
· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience
