The Operations Finance team is seeking a Finance Analyst II to support Transportation Controllership for North America.

The NA Transportation Finance Controllership team is responsible for finance support related to all payment and accounting activities in the transportation space, including import, domestic inbound, warehouse transfer, and outbound shipments. We partner closely with transportation business units and tech teams as they work to continually refine and scale the business to keep pace with Amazon's rapid growth. Along with our partners in Accounting, we are responsible for closing the books on NA Transportation shipments.

This specific role requires an analyst who has the ability to develop business insights in a dynamic environment while working with some of the world's largest data. As such, the analyst must combine strong business analysis skills with the ability to place them in a Finance or Accounting context. The Finance Analyst will be detail oriented, possess strong SQL skills, and have expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The right candidate will blend advanced reporting, strong critical thinking and project management skills while understanding and further developing our financial applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:
· BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
· Understanding of Accounting concepts
· 2+ years of relevant experience in positions that require analysis, including internships
· Prior experience working across teams and large organizations
· Strong communication skills
· Experience performing financial and ad-hoc analysis using Excel
· Strong Excel skills (pivots, index match, look-ups, etc.)
· Proven SQL ability (query writing, updating, validation)
· Ability to travel; up to 10% travel expected
· Prior coding experience required
