The Amazon Device organization designs, produces and markets Kindle e-readers, Fire Tablets, Fire TV Streaming Media Players and Echo Speakers, and is constantly looking to innovate on behalf of customers with new devices in existing or new categories. The Device Analytics team provides decision support to the Device organization across all product lines – established and emerging, worldwide. In addition to supporting the device organization our team applies econometric solutions to critical business problems across Amazon.
The Amazon Device Analytics team is looking for an analytical, innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed Business Analyst to help with updating and evolving an economic model based on customer behavioral data and survey results used for allocating Prime subscription revenue across benefits. They will be responsible for fielding consumer surveys across multiple countries and combining the results with behavioral information to generate the model output. They will need to come up with solutions for improving efficiency and experiments that help expand the scope of the study and evolve the science. They will be working closely with engineering and economist teams on identifying and implementing improvements within the software service hosting the models.
This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, excellent mastery of data access and manipulation languages, and strong written and oral communication skills. They will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, vocally self-critical, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities Include:
· Field out surveys to Amazon customers
· Pull data on customer behaviors and combine it with the survey data to generate modeled preferences
· Identify opportunities and implement process changes or develop tools to improve efficiency
· Work with economists to identify science improvements and help test and roll them out
· Define experiments to identify ongoing improvements to the process and science, improve efficiency and quality
· Communicate with engineering teams to get improvements prioritized within their roadmaps

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
· 3+ years of professional experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role
· Knowledge of data mining and processing using SQL and at least one of SAS/R/Python
