Amazon's Core Artificial Intelligence team in Berlin is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive scientist with a strong interest in applying fair and interpretable machine learning methods to solve large-scale problems in a data-driven fashion. Our work areas include machine learning, bias detection, fairness, and large-scale system design and data storage.
You will work alongside internationally recognized experts to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in machine learning and data management. Applied Scientists at Amazon work in teams with Software Development Engineers to bring novel ideas into production systems. At Amazon, you have the ability to publish research papers and to work on a diverse team.
You will collaborate closely with technology and business teams in all corners of the company, including our e-commerce site and subsidiaries, Amazon Web Services, and Digital Media including Amazon Music and Amazon Video. Your work can impact millions of Amazon customers.
· PhD degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
· Publications in machine learning or data management conferences or journals (e.g., NIPS, ICML, VLDB, SIGMOD)
· Experience in machine learning/artificial intelligence, bias detection, fairness, data quality, data science, data mining, or information integration research
· Experience in general-purpose programming languages such as Scala, Python, Java, or C++
