In Selling Partner Systems and Experiences (SPSX), you will pave the future of our relationship with our Selling Partners, enhancing how we do business and our effectiveness as a player in global e-commerce. Amazon has risen to the top of online retail, but there is still a lot of work to be done to remain competitive and find new opportunities.

As a member of Amazon's SPSX development team, you will be a key player in driving the growth of Amazon's Consumer business. The SPSX team is enhancing many of the business processes that run Amazon Retail and Amazon Marketplace. We are building new services and enhancing the existing vendor and seller systems to support them. You will solve technical challenges in optimization, large-scale computing, distributed systems, web applications, scalability, security, and algorithms just to name a few. You will drive future solutions that will impact how we run the Consumer business worldwide and interface with many teams, both technical and non-technical, across the company. And most importantly, the SPSX teams are consist of really awesome people, and you'll have a lot of fun!

We're looking for an applied scientist who will help utilize our data through analytics and machine learning to provide key insights and enable new business opportunities. You will drive future solutions that will impact how we improve selling partner experience and delight our customers.

This role requires an individual with strong quantitative modeling skills and experience deploying these models to a production environment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

You will be expected to:

· Leverage knowledge of statistics and optimization to frame decision-making problems for determining selection, pricing and inventory.

· Build statistical models required to measure the impact of each system and platform.
·
· Predict future customer behavior and business conditions through machine learning and predictive modeling.
·
· Use analytical and predictive techniques to build models for optimizing and target specific products.
·
· Translate prototype models to production quality software systems.
·
· Present proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters in Engineering/Computer Science/Math/Statistics or related discipline.
· 2+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and analysis
· Strong problem solving ability and solid background in statistics and machine learning
· Experience with data science tools (eg Python, R, SAS, Matlab), machine learning frameworks (eg scikit-learn, tensorflow, Weka), database systems (both SQL and NoSQL) and MapReduce concepts
· Communication, data visualization and data presentation skills
