JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work as part of the global Data Processing Technology team to identify business needs and opportunities and create and maintain functional, technical and enterprise architectures, and support the development of such architectures with technology expertise
Make recommendations on integration strategies, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution or transform an existing solution, providing best practice advice to the Allianz community and partners
Take responsibility for leading functional and technical projects, including such activities as requirements analysis, functional and technical design, technology research and evaluation, technology advocacy, proof-of-concept work, and resource coordination
Prepare and deliver architecture and technology briefings, including slide presentations and white papers
Collaborate with architects, software engineers and business specialists
Work across the company to drive adoption of technical standards, design principles and architecture methodologies
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers
Travel for meetings, technical reviews and other onsite activities
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Qualification
MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Excellent understanding of multi-tier application architectures, event-driven architectures, service-oriented architectures, microservices and related areas
Experience with developing scalable architectures, and with leveraging virtualization or containerization technologies which support different application development stages
Experience with developing real-time event processing solutions which could include architecture, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems
Well versed in domain modeling and domain-driven design to devise elegant solutions to complex customer needs
Experience in writing code in one or more general purpose programming languages
Demonstrated knowledge of open source technologies, and public and private cloud platform technologies (CloudFoundry, Scalr, OpenStack, etc)

Experience & Key skills
3-5 years of experience as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team
Exceptional analytical capabilities and a passion for problem solving
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the application architecture space
Ability to translate business requirements into technical concepts, executive presentations and whitepapers
Very good business acumen
International project and work experience
Strong communication skills
Cultural sensitivity in order to fit into a multinational project setup
High sensitivity to internal customer and end customer needs
