The Finance Master Data Expert is responsible for the smooth creation and maintenance of finance master data (e.g. Cost Center, materials) and the update process in all business systems. In addition to an affinity for operational topics, the set up, implementation and further development of a finance master data concept is the main responsibility. Typically this will cover the system support of approval, maintenance or technical creation processes in SAP. Important is a good understanding of SAP MM and CO to steer discussions and achieve results. For the collaboration with experts from Controlling, Accounting, IT, Management and External Consultants sensitivity and assertiveness are required.
Since master data Management is a foreign field to many business colleagues it is necessary to document, model and present ideas and suggestions in a way that show the benefits for the business. The capability to communicate the necessity of mature master data management to all stakeholders will be an important part of the job.
In addition the finance master data expert will be part of project teams to onboard existing IT services into the new master data logic.
Conceptionel: proven experience in the Master Data Management (MDM) area, especially understanding of the following topics:
- Master data strategy (concept of strategy definition, alignment with IT- and business-strategy)
- Governance and organisation (creation and content of policies, MDM-roles, knowledge of different MDM-organizational forms)
- Data modeling
- Process modeling (modeling approaches and -tools, integration with Business Process Management)
- Functional IT architecture (interrelation of systems with focus on MDM, knowledge of different MDM-architectures)
- Data Quality Management ("get-green"/"stay-green" concepts, understanding of data migration, Archiving, Data Life Cycle concepts)
Technical: Proven hands on experience with SAP ERP, knowledge of (major) technical SAP-tables for (important) data objects, experience with queries, basic knowledge data dictionary, capability to analyze transactional documents with a focus on master data
- Moderation and integration capability with different teams and departments, capability to work closely with IT and Business Units
- Creativity and ideas to further develop the master data management concept
