JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation and upgrading the database server and application tools
Allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements for the database system
Modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
Enroll users and maintaining system security
Ensure compliance with database vendor license agreement
Monitor and optimize the performance of the database
Contact database vendor for technical support
Produce and edit scripts for optimizing efficiencies

Documentation
Develop and create a wide-range of documentation such as presentations, technical designs, functional specifications and system requirements
Update and enhance the existing documentation on a regular basis by guaranteeing quality and completeness
Communicate and train regularly on documentation content as well as keep up-to-date IT design, policies and specifications within the existing documentation
Develop and maintain technical documentation for database specific configurations, access and processes

Stakeholder Management
Proactively work and coordinate with relevant stakeholders (within IT, the business, strategic vendors / outsource partners, among others) to deliver consultancy and service
Coordinate with other functions e.g. Finance, Operations as necessary
Interacting with provider and vendor to drive the resolution of issues

Solution Development
Contribute to the preparation of test cases and work closely with the test managers and analysts
When required work on the effective design of IT solutions by bringing in the element of technology and architecture for the design solution

Governance and Standards
Conduct analysis on whether IT policies/standards are being followed, follow up and apply in cases where necessary
Perform peer reviews for the code quality and ensure compliance to all standards and guidelines for software programming

Information collection
Investigate IT procedures, standards and guidelines (including AGCS as well as Group IT standards)
Evaluate existing systems/processes
Interact with stakeholders within the IT department
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Relevant experience
3-5 years professional experience within the IT industry, ideally in the financial services sector
Experience in participating projects / tasks in a global environment
Knowledge in risk management

Education / Certification
Bachelor degree in related field is required, preferably in IT or Business Administration
Very good command of the English language (verbal and written) is mandatory. Other languages, especially German, would be beneficial

Technical Skills
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley or ICOFR reporting in an IT environment
Knowledge of ITIL, SOX compliancy and SDLC
General knowledge of IT based infrastructure and application platforms
OCA Certificate is required

General Skills
Analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, identify and resolve issues before they transpire
Strong conceptual abilities and implementation of pragmatic methods and procedures
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to understand and interpret business needs and associated technical requirements
Proven experience in complex and international organization, as well as the ability to work independently and accurately under time pressure
Experience in participating projects and tasks in a global environment with multicultural teams
Ability to work strategically with focus on the targets
Influencing and relationship management skills especially in conflict situations
