Job Description

A vacancy for a Lavatory Module Engineer (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus  in Hamburg - Finkenwerder at the earliest possible start date.

The department Lavatory Module Architecture (ECG2I) is looking for a Mechatronic Engineer. The department Lavatory Module Architecture is within Airbus Engineering responsible over the complete life cycle for the Lavatory Module for all Airbus aircraft.

As a Mechatronic Engineer you will be part of the whole development process beginning with the first concept studies over the entry into service and during the complete service of the aircraft. The job requires an independent and reliable working attitude and is characterized by a high level of interdisciplinary work beyond teams, companies and countries.

Your main tasks will include:

·  Evaluation and analysis of technology trends
·  Dimensioning of Lavatory architectures under consideration of aircraft specific standards and rules
·  Definition of all requirements, planning and compilation of module and equipment specifications
·  Coordination with internal stakeholders (Safety, Maintenance, electrical and mechanical Installation, interacting aircraft systems, Chief Engineering, Procurement, etc.)
·  Integration of the module and its components and coordination of all system and equipment interfaces
·  Validation of module and equipment requirements and definition and control of qualification and verification activities during the complete aircraft development
·  Coordination with external partners (like module/equipment suppliers, engineering service providers, universities, research facilities, public authorities)
·  Vendor monitoring, securing the product compliance with the technical requirements in time and quality by conducting reviews and audits
·  Reporting of the project status and presentation of work results Airbus internally as well as externally
·  Collaboration in multifunctional teams (with Procurement, Programme Management, Quality, Customer Support, etc.) e.g. for supplier selections
·  Steering and control of subcontracted engineering service providers
·  Support of the module and equipment certification by compilation of required documentation
·  Assessment, development, and implementation of requested module and equipment changes (driven Airbus internally or by customers)
·  Technical and administrative participation in in-service topics (evaluation of system behavior, failure analysis and design improvements)
·  Compilation of concepts for architecture, system, and equipment improvements and support of innovation projects

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Engineering degree in Aerospace Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
·  First experience in development and integration of modules/systems and their components
·  Competences and experience in Project Management
·  First experiences with Technical Vendor Management
·  An analytical, innovative and comprehensive mindset
·  Good communication and presentation skills
·  The ability to work in a team and a customer oriented attitude
·  Confident and professional appearance
·  Language Skills: Advanced level of English and German

This role will involve regular travel for business
