Job Description

Airbus Cyber Security is a European specialist in cyber security. Our mission is to protect governments, military and essential national infrastructure enterprises from cyber threats.

We are over 700 experts based across our main locations in France, Germany and the UK, each with a Security Operating Centre, we also operate in the US and the Middle East.

We provide a global cyber defence approach that aims to protect, detect and respond to cyber threats with a portfolio including managed security services, industrial control system offerings, encryption, key management and consultancy services.

The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Manager has arisen for a within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager you will manage a multi-functional team (including Engineering, Procurement, Production and other functions of 5-15 people) to develop High Grade Security applications and products.

You will ensure that the customer requirements flown down via a work order or contract are delivered On Quality, On Time and On Cost.

As such you will be the primary interface to the customer ensuring that deliverables are produced in-line with the project schedule and relevant gate/quality reviews and customer reviews.

You will be fully responsible for all aspects of the equipment/deliverables and ensure the allocated team delivers to customer satisfaction.

Tasks & Accountabilities

·  Be the point of contact for customers, proposals and/or projects.
·  Ensure proposals are bid in line with product strategy and play an active role in bid/no-bid decisions.
·  Ensure proposals are produced on time and effectively answer the RFP.
·  Deliver projects on time, on quality and in costs
·  Manage projects and establish EAC / CTC throughout the project life cycle in line with company processes
·  Provide inputs to the Monthly Review, Business Reviews and other Airbus Defence and Space relevant reviews and in line with the agreed methods and principles.
·  Ensure strong link with other Airbus departments
·  Ensure programmes effectively focus on mitigation of risk to result in successful completion.
·  Drives the Project from proposal to delivery
·  Endorses Project goals and defines Development Plan
·  Implements project level Make-Buy analysis and decision
·  Leads and facilitates Multi-functional Core Team
·  Drives development
·  Sets Team / individual Project objectives
·  Triggers internal Design Reviews
·  Triggers and coordinates gate/quality reviews
·  Provides input to functional managers for Team Members performance evaluation
·  Ensure that proposals are supported and that lessons learnt are incorporated to allow cost models and reductions are continuous.

Requirements           

·  HND/Degree in a relevant engineering or managerial subject is preferred.
·  Some professional qualifications leading to PMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
·  Should have some knowledge of managing projects and people both locally and remotely.
·  Proven track record of delivering complex proposals under short timescales and delivering complex and challenging projects; ‘lead by example’
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in communication, delegation and motivation.

This role is based at our Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, South Wales, and involves working within the UK Defence industry, requiring the applicant to be able to be security cleared to a UK SC level.
