Description of the job

The Airbus Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for a Scientist in Wireless Communications to join our Central Research & Technology - Communication Technologies department in Ottobrunn, Germany.

With your creative and analytic mind, you will use your unique expertise to inspire and conduct complex and strategic research to realise the technology needs for generation after next products related to communication systems.

Tasks & accountabilities

The principle responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:

·  Deliver results of research tasks taking into account time, cost and quality.
·  Support strategic assessments of technologies to be selected as solutions for research projects.
·  Contribute to the orchestrating of the Airbus internal and external partnering ecosystem.
·  Keep up to date with state-of-the-art development in science and technology.
·  Secure high quality of reports and documentation.
·  Support to knowledge management in the area of technology.
·  Support to IP securing by drafting invention disclosures.
·  Internal and external representation of research area.

·  Proven experience in Research and Development of Wireless Communication Networks and Systems.
·  Profound experience in Simulating and Implementing protocols Stacks, as well as setting up Hardware and Network operations.
·  Extended knowledge in some of recent network protocols such as 5G eMBB/mMTC/URLLC, CAT-M, NB-IoT, LoRa, Sigfox, 802.15.4e, 802.11ah/ax/ay.
·  Experience in Programming languages for Embedded Systems.
·  Knowledge of Aerospace Certification and Regulations.
·  Proven track record of scientific publications at conferences and in journals.
·  Proven experience in conducting cutting-edge research activities.
·  Strong ability to identify and assess new technologies.
·  Experience in knowledge management and IPR would be a plus.
·  Negotiation level in English and German.
