A vacancy for a Navigation Research and Development Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

Your tasks and responsibilities:

o Work on innovative navigation concepts for the next generation European navigation systems, in particular Galileo and EGNOS
o Trade-off analysis for enhanced satellites navigation applications such as carrier phase positioning, sensor integration and hybrid positioning concepts
o Evaluation of future navigation relevant services such as terrestrial navigation, 5G, mega constellation, optical navigation, Android raw data utilization
o Investigation of navigation system ground and space segment algorithms and data dissemination concepts for integrated and advanced services provision
o Detailed simulation of system concepts to assess the expected end-user performance and support the system definition
o Trade-off analyses for different solutions and implementation options
o Contribute to system design documentation with proper justification
o Documentation of results, presentation and defending it towards the stakeholders
o Support to time to market improvements for navigation based and navigation related applications
o Support to integration of navigation products in transversal Airbus products
o Analysis of ITT and preparation of proposals with focus on Phases 0/A/B

Required skills

What are we looking for?

o You are educated to a Master's degree in an Engineering discipline with major focus on Systems Engineering and Navigation Algorithms such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Geodesy, or equivalent
o You have detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of the satellite-based Navigation Systems (Galileo, GPS, EGNOS, GLONASS)
o You have gathered experience in standard engineering software (e.g. Doors, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect and XSD/XML, Modaf, Matlab)
o You have demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and define innovative solutions
o You are motivated to work within an international culture
o You have a high degree of initiative, commitment and self-motivation
o You have a customer-oriented and solution-oriented way of working
o You are fluent English and advanced German language skills
