The Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) department is extensively involved in design, development and application of modern control systems for a variety of scientific and Earth observation satellites.

Master Thesis Topic: Extension of Attitude Controller for Agile Satellite with Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs)

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Modeling of spacecraft with CMGs and additional dynamics (based on existing work on site)

Review of existing controller design methods:

·  For pointing control (PCD-Tool)
·  Spacecraft with CMGs
·  Spacecraft with additional dynamics
·  Identification of suitable (existing) controller structure
·  Extension of existing controller
·  Verification in simulation and experiment
·  Documentation

Required skills

You offer:

·  Enrolled master student within Aerospace Engineering or similar field of study
·  Knowledge spacecraft dynamics, control theory
·  Experience with Matlab/Simulink
·  English: fluent

You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
