Description of the job

We are looking for a Loads and Aeroelastics Engineer (f/m/d) within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) in Hamburg to join the department Maneuver & Ground Loads at the earliest possible start date.

What does your new challenge look like?

The position to be filled is part of the overall aircraft loads modelling, analysis and monitoring team in Hamburg. In this position, your main mission will be to lead the development of the Loads Monitoring solution in the context of Smart Data Analytics and Marketable Services, and to act as the Focal Point for Loads Monitoring in terms of technical support and project Management.

Tasks & accountabilities

What can you expect?

·  As the successful candidate, you will be working in the area of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)
·  You will be responsible for further developing on-board and off-board solutions to a robust monitoring of flight and ground loads encountered in-service
·  Your task will include the entire product development chain, from developing suitable mathematical models to on-board data handling, prototyping methods, specifying software for validation, and checking the final monitoring system
·  In particular you will focus on marketable services and the industrialisation of a robust approach
·  As the project leader of a small project team, you will be interface with a wide variety of other internal Airbus departments (e.g. systems, stress and customer services)
·  You will make suggestions for continuous process improvement

Required skills

What do you bring?

·  You have a University degree in Engineering, Aerospace technology or equivalent
·  You bring knowledge in flight mechanics, and loads modelling, including surrogate modelling simulation
·  You can demonstrate significant experience in structural health monitoring (SHM) systems and aircraft maintenance
·  You bring initial experience in flight data analysis, signal processing, smart data analytics and machine learning
·  You can demonstrate initial project management experience
·  You are team-oriented and can demonstrate very good communication, networking and presentation skills in an international environment
·  Your English is at a negotiation level; an advanced level of German is required for this position

This role will involve some travel for business (approx. once in a quarter) in Europe and, as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.
