Are you looking for an internship? Would you like to discover the work of a thermal engineer? Then apply now! We look forward to you joining us as an intern (m/f) in the department "Mechanical Engineering" (35 hours/week, flexi-time).
Location: Bremen
Start: as soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
As an intern you will learn about the development and verification of thermal design for space business.
We are looking for a student who will continue the development and improvement of a cold plate/radiator for space application. Cold plates/radiators are standard-equipments in space business.
By using new manufacturing technologies like 3D printing (additive manufacturing), several improvements could be realized by establishing new and innovative designs.

Tasks & accountabilities
This creative activity consists of the following tasks:
· Take current development status of cold plates/radiators-design as baseline
· Become familiar with the core principles of 3D printing process
· Perform further analysis (thermal and mechanical) in frame of verification and validation process.
· Tools and experts are available within the department
· The design-status is currently PDR-Level
· Drive the design-maturity to CDR level
· If needed, improve the design of the given innovative demonstrator based on design key-parameters.
· Update the design via CAD
· Document your work in a report

Required skills
You offer:
· Enrolled student within Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
· Knowledge of Thermodynamics and Structural Mechanics
· First design-experience with CAD
· Structured and organized way of working
· Languages: fluent in English, advanced in German
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
