Description of the job

Are you looking for an internship? Would you like to discover the work of a mechanical engineer? Then apply now! We look forward to you joining us as an intern (m/f) in Bremen (35 hours/week, flexi-time).

Location: Bremen
Start: as soon as possible
Duration: 4-6 months

Afterwards there is the possibility for writing a final thesis, upon agreement with the department.

As an intern you will acquire an in-depth insight into the Mechanical Engineering Department of Airbus Defence and Space / Space Systems in Bremen.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your exciting tasks:

·  FE-modeling of metallic lattice structures for additive manufacturing
·  Comparison of tensile test results on lattice structures with simulation results
·  Correlation of models
·  Comparison of different unit cells with respect to their mechanical performance
·  Identification of suitable FE modeling approach
·  Estimate for more complex parts and load cases

Required skills

You offer:

·  Enrolled student within Aerospace Engineering, Structural Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
·  Very good knowledge of structural mechanics
·  Good knowledge of Finite Element Methods (FEM)
·  First experience with pre-/post processors and solvers (e.g. Hyperworks, NASTRAN)
·  Fluent in German and English

You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
