Tasks & accountabilities

Your exciting tasks:
In the context of a Research & Technology project on novel Pilot Assistance Functions in the Mission Avionics domain, the performance of different imaging technologies shall be investigated in a variety of environmental conditions. A thorough characterization of different imaging technologies is key for defining the optimal sensor configuration to support H/C crews in the perception of different environments. For the purpose of this project, a sensor test-stand shall be developed that includes different imaging sensors and that shall be placed in a representative environment to collect information over a longer period of time. Different imaging sensors in visible and infrared spectrum are made available. The internship will focus on the integration of these sensors in the test-stand and to integration of sensor control in a Labview environment for remote access and recording. The deployment of the test-stand in an offshore environment shall be prepared. Based on the evaluation of first recordings, first requirements for a future imaging flight aid shall be defined.

Tasks:

·  Software integration of various camera's in Labview environment
·  Completion of sensor test stand incl. mechanical and electrical integration of various cameras
·  Organize and conduct tests and evaluate sensors performance
·  Sensor characterization and derivation of initial requirements for future imaging flight aids
·  Documentation and presentation

Required skills

You offer:

·  Matriculated student (m/f) in the field of engineering sciences or comparable
·  experience in programming (LabView, Matlab), computer HW/SW, embedded systems, image and video processing is an advantage
·  ability to work in a team
·  Independent operation
·  personal initiative
·  MS Office knowledge
·  Advanced English and fluent German
