Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

The Communications Products (CP) group is a world leader in Digital Processors and other Payload Equipment for Telecommunication Satellites, with work being undertaken for a range of national and international customers. The responsibility of the group covers a wide area, encompassing research and development of new digital processor products and RF products, as well as manufacture and test of flight electronic equipment and in-orbit operational support. It is an exciting time to join Airbus Defence and Space as we strive to lead an evolving market where communication and connectivity are at the very heart of our future.

Tasks

Main activities of the role may include:

·  Architect and develop test methodologies and software by developing a detailed understanding of the design and build of our digital equipment products, to ensure they meet our high standards of performance and reliability
·  Delve deeply into the heart of our digital systems in order to understand how to efficiently verify and validate their operation and performance
·  Initially contribute to the architecting and development of test software applications and systems, from component/interface verification up to system-level validation testing. Eventually this will result in leading this work independently as you develop your experiences
·  Develop key relationships with all technical experts within the internal and external teams, ensuring the equipment meets or exceeds its expected performance
·  Show a willingness to learn and challenge the “status quo” to ensure that our equipment test campaigns are well prepared and robust enough to meet the increasing demands of our business

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

·  Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or related subject (2.1 or above) with emphasis on systems/software design
·  Must have excellent communication skills: as part of the Product validation team you will have a large amount of interaction across the entirety of the department and so the successful candidate will demonstrate this in abundance
·  Demonstrate a dedication and desire to see work through to completion, and show the necessary drive to ensure our test campaigns are slick and efficient whilst meeting the needs of our design engineers and manufacturing teams
·  An outstanding problem solver who will be a key contributor to the successful test campaigns of our next generation space-quality electronics
·  Will have a broad electronic engineering/science background, and is at home in a highly technical role with suitable experiences in software development (ideally applied to test instrumentation and data analysis/processing).
·  Experiences and interests in several software languages especially C++/C# and Python

This role will be based in Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
