Job Description

A vacancy for a EF System Engineer WSS (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “TASTP2-TL1 - Crossfunction & Concepts”.

Tasks:

PSTS is one of the Major Support Items within the Eurofighter programme and provides the simulators for Eurofighter pilot training.

The System Engineer Avionics is a member of the PSTS Joint Engineering Team. He reports to the Engineering Manager.

- Initial and detailed assessment of aircraft changes and modifications applicable to the PSTS design.

- Support for the production of the overall design of the PSTS system architecture (functional/physical) down to subsystem level.

- Review and refinement of the design implications associated with the simulator specific functions and A/C malfunctions related to the relevant subsystems.

- Preparation and issue of system design requirements and associated inter-face requirements definition in the area of the EF aircraft subsystems.

- Coordination, support and harmonisation of the related subsystem design requirements creation from the PSTS industrial partners.

- Support for the production of the EF weapon system specific (WSS) interface documents for the relevant standards.

- Support of the formal design reviews for the related subsystems.

- Support the preparation of user stories / test stories and actively support the PSTS acceptance.

- Support Project Control Management (PCM) in preparation and management of the day-to-day activity plans at the Joint Integration Facility (JIF), in line with the PSTS integrated master schedule.

- Support PCM in planning and scheduling of subsystem integration and testing activities at the JIF.

- Technically monitor and interface with PSTS Partners and provide associated reporting to Joint Team management.

- Monitor the aircraft software Qualification Statements and analyse their impact on PSTS.

- Investigate queries and SPRs with the aim of fault isolation including identification of associated aircraft SPRs; actively participate in the resolution of SPRs and Queries.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- University graduate in engineering, computer science or similar.

- Solid experience in system engineering and/or integration.

- Experience with Eurofighter aircraft avionic system design.

- Experience in military training systems/simulators engineering and design advantageous.

- Fluent in English and Germany

- At ease with multicultural environment.
