We are looking for motivated students to join our teams at Airbus Commercial Aircraft or Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse area.

An internship vacancy titled: “Digital Transformation Officer - Airline Sciences (m/f).” has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

You will join the Airline Sciences.

Airline Sciences is about combining tool kits from Marketing/Sales, Design and Airlines Operations Support Services to:
• Ensure the delivery of reliable aircraft economics
• Design the right aircraft for our customers to maximize Airbus' profitability
• Provide the ability to play out airline scenarios to explore new markets and/or yields

This will be done through:
• Ensuring a continuum in aircraft representation, adjusted through operations feedbacks enabling airline tactical gains
• Designing aircraft and engine using actual airline operations
• Combining market forecasts and airline simulations
More generally speaking, Fuel Policy, consumption, traffic, revenue, maintenance... are as much parameters considered by Airline Sciences team.
This project will only be valuable for Airbus if we capture accurately the business needs and ensure simple integration of our toolkit into the legacy Airbus environment. Therefore, we provide web services to our first customers and early adopters.

The internship will start from March 2019 (date subject to some flexibility) and its duration is 4 to 6 months.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will :

- Transform data into actionable insights for product performance, business and market intelligence; operational diagnostics and prognostics.
- Based on data modelling provided by IT, with a focus on business needs, extract and integrate both structured and unstructured data from various databases/data-stores ;
- Develop, test and implement the most suitable analytical models to identify meaningful patterns or trends from complex data sets and types;
- Implement the analytics pipeline against the business needs;
- Analyse and improve regularly the accuracy of models against business needs;
- Communicate findings through effective and easy-to-understand data visualisations adapted to the audience;
- Be the interface between their functions, the data ecosystem and the requested solution;
- Coach the function in the data-driven mind-set;
- Actively contribute and share best practices, findings, and techniques with the wider data community

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

Above all, you must be highly interested in digital transformation challenges.
In terms of education, you have double set of competencies at master level among the following list: applied mathematics, computer science, aerospace engineering, data science, Economics.

You have the following skills and experience:
- Object oriented programming: Java, C++, Python (Data Science toolkit numpy, scikit learn pandas, tensorflow…),
- Machine learning
- UX experience
- Aeronautical knowledge is a plus
- Autonomous, dynamic, curious, project management, Open minded
- English : Advanced/negotiation level
