Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation

The Platform Engineer provides services for their full lifecycle – and must continuously improve to meet new requirements and priorities the team must manage its services like a product, support and empower the DevOps transformation of the company, drive the application engineering community and to share and incorporate new concepts and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

· Advice, guidance & technical planning regarding Kubernetes and Cloud Services (etc. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Requests can be general, problems using it or real problems in the infrastructure requiring more machine room help
· Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or to enable better/faster ways of working
· Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems to meet business needs and considers target environment, performance & security requirements.
· Skill sharing within the team and documentation of best practices.
· Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and automation scripts from agreed specifications (mainly in an open source environment e.g. Bash, Go, Java…)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Very good knowledge with Kubernetes
· Good knowledge with Cloud technology (AWS + Azure, Google Cloud, AliCloud etc.)
· Good knowledge with open source technologies and programming (e.g. Bash, Go, Java)
· Familiar with Linux, knowledge about how to do monitoring, CI/CD
· English language (fluent)
· German language would be a plus

Qualifications

· 3+ years’ experience as Solution Architect, Platform/Systems Engineer or DevOps Engineer
