Job description
Key tasks
1. Support and uphold the Hotel’s mission, vision and guiding principles.
2. Comprehend the hotel’s business plans
3. Comply with all hotel policies and procedures and all local regulations(if any)
4. Comply with demonstrate and be perceived as a role model for:

5. Maintain a friendly, neat and pleasant image at all times support internal best practices
6. Maintain highest standards of professionalism, ethics, grooming and attitude towards associates, guests/customers, suppliers and other clients and maintain professional confidentiality at all times
7. Demonstrate a good working relationship with other departments with a high level of communication and co-operation in the interests of customer service and improvements in the working conditions of the hotel and department and demonstrate the ten foot rule.
8. Ensure that pre-check and check control/procedures area carried out accordingly
9. Ensure cleanliness and tidy up station after each operation
10. Prepare mise-en-place before the operation starts
prepare breads and bread baskets or trays, condiments and crackers, sugar bowls or caddies, salt and pepper shakers and grinders
fold napkins, prepare service trays for servers
prepare chilled forks and plates as required, stock ashtrays and matches
set up the water station and water pitchers
prepare ice buckets and ice bucket stands
prepare and serve beverages: coffee, hot tea, iced tea, hot chocolate, etc.
set up, maintain and take down the salad bar
prepare table for service and maintain tables clear and reset tables
11. Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
12. Maintain a high standards of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
13. Attend pre-service briefing and attend and contribute to staff meeting/training classes and other related activities
14. Show knowledge of food and beverage preparation knowledge with emphasis in food hygiene:
Kitchen safety
Alcoholic beverage terms
House brands and call brands
Liquor brands and categories
Standard drink abbreviations
Responsible alcohol service procedures
OSHA regulations
Beverage prices
Basic food preparation terms and timing
Correct plate presentation and garnishes
The restaurant serving system
Health department regulations
Point of sale equipment
15. Set up food & beverage facilities in the function room as specified in BEO
16. Greet and seat guests, Anticipate guest needs and strive to exceed guest expectations
17. Assist associates to ensure total guest satisfaction, anticipate associate needs and strive to exceed associate expectations
18. Help serve wine or champagne
19. Bus soiled dishes to the dish room and handle soiled restaurant line
20. Prepare takeout items
21. Perform closing side work and cleaning duties
22. Anticipate owners needs and strive to exceed owner’s expectations
