Position Summary: Responsible for mixing, matching and applying to various surfaces, completing touchups and coordinating large painting projects.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Employees must possess the following qualities in order to be successful in their position:
•Must have and maintain a professional appearance for our Luxury Hotel
•Must be a team player and enjoy working on and with teams
•Proactive approach when interacting with guest, co-worker or vendor
•Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and application techniques common to the painting trade
•Apply paint to surfaces including walls, canvas, floors, doors and cabinets
•Mix, match and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel and other finishes
•Scrape sandpaper, prime or seal surfaces prior to painting
•Fill cracks, holes and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers using caulking guns or patty knife
•Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment if necessary
•Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting
•Operates compressors, stripping machines, spray equipment and other power equipment
•Installs, repairs and maintains drywall, wall texturing and ceiling acoustic texturing
•Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials and other hazardous materials
