Deli Attendant

Prepares and serves sandwiches, snacks and beverages while maintaining all beverage and food requests.  Keeps the station clean and supplied at all times.  Maintains a bank and  handles cash register. Prepares all appropriate records and reports, also responsible for all chits, monetary transactions and proper filing of paperwork.

 

 

Hotel Overview: The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii is a luxury AAA four-diamond Kohala Coast oceanfront resort with white sand lagoon, Hawaiian Spa Without Walls, golf, extensive meeting facilities, year-round children’s program, five restaurants and tennis, all serviced with Aloha.  We are currently looking for new colleagues to join our 'Ohana and share that Aloha here at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawai'i. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

·  Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
·  Responsible for fulfilling orders to include preparing and serving all customary items including sandwiches, snacks, beverages and retail items while keeping the work areas clean and organized and supplied at all times.
·  Maintains a bank and handles all monetary transactions.  Prepares all appropriate records and reports.  Close chits and file them properly.
·  Responsible for keeping all items adequately stocked including food items and paper goods.  Stocked items may include, but are not limited to, prepping basic food items necessary for service throughout the day.
·  Ensure service provided to guests is warm, sincere and engaging.  Service is to be professional and in line with service polish expectations.
·  Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. 
·  Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. 
·  Provide unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal service in a fast paced environment.
·  Work with the team to achieve greater results and positive relations.
·  Enhance guest experience with your food and beverage knowledge.
·  Provide service consistent with all Fairmont Standards
·  Ensure quality in food and beverages
·  Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications:
·  Previous customer service experience preferred
·  Previous cash handling experience
·  Detail oriented
·  Team player capable of working in a fast paced dynamic environment
·  Food & Beverage knowledge and willingness to learn
·  Positive attitude a must
·  Proven ability to sell
·  Seeking candidate with High School Degree
·  Must be able to speak, read, and write in English 
·  Intermediate mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages
·  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in either written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  

 

 
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limted to): 
·  Constant standing throughout shift
·  Will frequently need to be able to use hands to fingers, handle to feel, talk, hear, taste, smell, squat, twist body
·  Will occasionally need to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
·  Will need to frequently lift up to 10 pounds will occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds.
Visa Requirements:  Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
