The rise of Blockchain – or distributed ledgers – has changed customer expectations and generated a new stream of technologies that can be applied by organizations to innovate existing business processes and models. Traditional business models are under threat, yet complexities are increasing, and customers are becoming more demanding. Blockchain – and its associated technologies – can be the answer to stay competitive in this constantly changing environment. Across the world, Financial Services firms are waking up to the possibilities that Blockchain can bring to their business.

Established financial firms are increasingly exploring and using Blockchain to improve their current products and services, to increase transparency and cut costs. A future in which organizations record and automatically manage their financial recordings is near. Distributed ledger systems are additionally a tool to build business to business platforms that can unlock new business models. By reshaping how the financial industry is defined, how ecosystems interact and how value is created, Blockchain and platforms, are helping to build an economy anchored on shared outcomes. With all these changes organizations should question how blockchain – or distributed ledgers – affects their mission and core business. Your impact

You are expected to write a master thesis based on scientific research into the related concepts, application and value of Blockchain initiatives in the Dutch Financial Services industry. Next to its theoretical value, the thesis should generate new knowledge and insights that is of direct relevance to Accenture's Financial Services department and that strengthens Accenture's leading position as a global professional services provider.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Your background

·  You are a Master student in the final year of your graduation from university with preferably, but not exclusively, a specialization in the areas of Business Administration, Economics, (Innovation) Management and or (Industrial) Engineering;
·  You have affinity with disruptive technologies;
·  You are a team player with excellent communication skills and you are fluent in Dutch and English;
·  You work independently and have a hands-on mentality, you are creative and take responsibility, and you have a strong intrinsic motivation to work on the subject and take ownership over certain areas.
