Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing quality leadership and support for the 3M Food Safety software and integrated hardware for both commercialized product and new products in development.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.     

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Review and advise team on verification plans and data to ensure the product has been adequately tested including unit, functional and system verification
·  Review and advise team on requirements, design specifications, and design documents to ensure that they are comprehensive and actionable
·  Provide technical guidance and training to internal and external customers regarding software applications
·  Respond to and document issues, change requests and bugs in approved issue tracking tool
·  Work with team to optimize the 3M Food Safety software quality processes and tools
·  Represent the Food Safety Department in 3M Corporate initiatives, design and technology projects

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum three (3) years of experience in testing, troubleshooting and supporting software applications containing an interface with hardware in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Technology
·  Minimum five (5) years working with software application testing including white box, black box, automated, unit, functional and systems testing
·  Understanding of Windows 7,8/8.1 and 10, servers (Windows 2008 & 2012), networking and software components to include Internet Information Service manager (IIS), SQL Database Server, Mobile Technologies and NET Framework
·  Minimum two (2) years of Lean Six Sigma experience
·  Significant experience in successfully leading projects
·  Able to coordinate multiple projects and manage priorities accordingly
·  Demonstrated experience to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions
·  Familiarity with ISO quality requirements and documentation
·  Demonstrated organization and communication skills, written and oral
·  Ability to multi-task and detail oriented
·  Strong collaboration skills
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to write clear, concise, and well thought-out technical documentation

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
