Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Government, Healthcare & Law Enforcement Specialist will lead the sales efforts surrounding Local, Regional, State & Federal Government Agencies, Healthcare, Public Health, Emergency Management & Law Enforcement in to the Northwest region. The GH&LE Specialist will be responsible for covering assigned territory accounts, building relationships with distributors and end users covering the appropriate PSD products specific to these markets. Individual must achieve forecasted sales objectives by providing sales coverage of assigned accounts or within assigned territory. Position intended for individuals experienced in sales and who have demonstrated effective use of selling skills and have consistently achieved or exceeded forecast over a sustained period of time. Primarily, manages sales territory with periodic supervision and assistance.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career.         

                                     

Primary Responsibilities for per market space include, but are not limited to, the following:

Government ; Healthcare ; Law Enforcement Preparedness

·  Develop and implement sales/business development strategies and programs in region targeting government agencies specific to the Emergency Preparedness, Health Care, Public Health, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement and Targeted Conventional Force Military Bases.
·  Responsible for developing strategic relationships with regional and state government leaders
·  Establish and grow business relationships with all key decision makers in EP/HC, Law Enforcement, State Emergency Management sectors and Targeted Conventional Force Military Bases.
·  Subject matter expert for personal protection equipment in emergency preparedness markets:  State Emergency Mgmt. Agencies, UASI Grant Recipients, SHSGP Grant Recipients, Regional FEMA offices, etc.
·  Subject matter expert for personal protection equipment in law enforcement markets:  FBI, HLS, SWAT, etc.
·  Support key EP / Law Enforcement / Hearing shows & conferences.
·  Provide regular communication to the core sales force on trends & opportunities within these defined segments and product categories.
·  Identify, monitor and provide timely and accurate forecasts of sales opportunities and pipelines on defined segments.

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Personal Safety Equipment (Head, Eye, Face, Respiratory, Body and Hearing protection)in aprivate, public, government, or military environment
·  Current, valid Drivers license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Experience in selling into Industrial Market Spaces
·  Experience in Multi-site Location Replication and managing Government Grant & funding streams
·  Strong understanding of utilizing a Pull Though Marketing Strategy.
·  Communication and Detection sales experience
·  Experience selling into Government and/or Federal markets.
·  Experience working regulations set forth by OSHA / MSHA / ANSI
·  Superior written and verbal communications skills
·  Strong value proposition skills
·  Customer and Management Presentation skills

Location: Northern California

Sales Territory: US Northwest Region - California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada

Travel: 50% domestic

Relocation:   Is authorized within country per 3M policies
