The SAP HANA in-memory database is the basis for new, ground-breaking SAP applications and is widely agreed to be a highly valuable asset in the SAP software portfolio. In-memory computing is made possible through recent technology advances in main memory, multi-core processing, and data management. It leverages technology innovation to establish real-time analysis of business data and combines both transactions and analytics to improve existing business processes with a dramatic increase in performance. The SAP HANA in-memory database as basis for the in-memory computing shows enormous promise as a key driver for SAP‘s market of the future.

The development of the SAP HANA in-memory database is distributed over all continents. You will be part of the development team in Walldorf with more than 100 exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues. We live code development in a flexible and agile way. You will be part of a small and self-organized group of developers.

The SAP HANA Demo Applications team helps to visualize and illustrate the applicability of new features of the SAP HANA in-memory database. We are looking for Web application developers to bring their talents to the SAP HANA Development team.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We are looking for Web Application developers with a strong interest in adopting new software features on all levels of the application stack (UI, server-side logic, database), in order to achieve top-notch UIs for compelling stories.
The main task of the job is to co-invent, design, write and operate demo applications for new features of the SAP HANA in-memory database.

On a usual day you will...

·  devise short, precise and compelling demo stories, together with the demo’s stakeholders
·  develop demo applications, utilizing latest technologies and frameworks
·  maintain data and systems to have working demos available on short-notice

In addition to that you will...

·  provide feedback to HANA DB development
·  continually enhance your existing skills and seek new areas for personal development

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

·  Strong Java and JavaScript programming skills
·  Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks i.e. AngularJS, Ember.js, D3…
·  Strong attitude towards compelling UIs and demo stories
·  Good knowledge in SQL
·  University degree in computer science or related technical discipline
·  Verbal and written working proficiency in English and German

Preferred skills

·  Experience with SAP UI5
·  Experience with Java server technology and Node.js
·  Experience with Linux
·  Experience with Python
·  Experience in DBMS Administration and Operations
