Are you looking for an internship? Would you like to discover the work of an engineer? Then apply now! We look forward to you joining us as an intern (m/f) in the “TL1 Navigation System Support Ger” department (35 hours/week, flexi-time).

Location: Ottobrunn
Start: 01.10.2017
Duration: 6 months
Afterwards there is the possibility for writing a final thesis, upon agreement with the department.

The position is allocated to the department of navigation, a branch of the Earth Observation, Navigation and Sciences business unit of Airbus Defence and Space. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience the department is playing a leading role in Europe's satellite navigation systems development and deployment programmes as well as application development and innovative concept demonstration.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your exciting tasks:

·  Work in an integrated team on the ongoing exploitation of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system
·  Get an inside in the development of large systems
·  Support the assessment of Galileo in new mass-market devices
·  Support the maintenance of Airbus Android assessment apps
·  Identify reasonable testing scenarios and support the data evaluation
·  Contribute to innovative navigation concepts and concept testing with e.g. smartphones
·  Experimentation with navigation concepts in close cooperation with the navigation team
·  Activity can be shaped also for a final thesis work

Required skills

You offer:

·  Enrolled student within Software Engineering, Computer Science, Navigation or similar
·  Interest to deepen knowledge on satellite navigation systems
·  Experience in programming with Java for Android
·  Experience in rapid coding and efficient usage of development tools
·  Ambition to work in an international environment
·  Willingness to experiment with early system data and get an insight into processing algorithms
·  Interest to experiment with new and innovative ideas
·  English/German: advanced skills
